A former Wayne City resident, Mrs. Neda Pontious, 77, of Vandalia, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1985, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Pontious was the mother of Mrs. Doris Parker, of Fairfield. Mrs. Parker is employed as a third grade teacher at North Side Grade School.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Hohlt Funeral Home in Vandalia, with burial in Old Loogootee Cemetery at Loogootee.

Mrs. Pontious was born in Illinois Feb. 22, 1908, the daughter of Louis and Iva Ernest Stolte.   She was a retired shoe factory employee.

 Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Doris Parker. of Fairfield; a son, Elvin Pontious, of Vandalia; and grandchildren.
