JOSHUA BARNARD DIED
The following account of the death of Joshua P. Barnard at Hartford, Ky. On March 12th, is from the Herald of that city. Mr. Barnard had gone to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stevens, last August. He had moved away from that city to Wayne county some thirty-six years ago, and during these 36 years had lived on farms in Lamard and Arrington townships.
The burial took place in a cemetery there at Hartford.
Joshua P. Barnard died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.F. Stevens, Hartford, R.F.D., No 3, at 3:30 A.M., on March 12th, 1931. His death was due to the infirmities of age. Had he lived he would have been 91 on March 15th. He was born March 15th, 1840, near Equality. He had been ill sinceMonday morning.
He was a member of the M.E. Church, South, and was a very active worker. He was a successful farmer having followed that occupation in Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky. He returned from Illinois to Ohio county, last August. His first wife was before marriage Miss Elvira Reed. Following her death he was married to Mrs. Betty Tichenor, who preceded him to the grave. He was married in 1896 to Hannah Harris, a Wayne county, Ill., woman. She died in 1916. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. Belle Brown, the latter residing in Hunter, Ark., four sons, J.T. Barnard, of South Carrollton, M.B. Barnard, of R.F.D. 3, Hartford, M.W. Barnard, of Ada, Okla., and Roscoe P. Barnard, of Geff, Ill.
