A retired railroad employee Burt Hays, 89, of Enfield, died at 11:35 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 1985, at American Beauty Nursing Home in West Frankfort.

He was the son of the late Benjamin and Emma Land Hays.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Enfield Cemetery with Rev. Rick VanGeisen officiating. Elledge Funeral Home handled the arrangements.  No visitation is planned at the funeral home.

Mr. Hays was born in Illinois, Nov. 17, 1895. He was a World War I veteran.

Survivors include one son, Robert Hays, of Pontiac; three daughters, June Brown, of Virginia, Ill; Judy Brinkman, of Jacksonville; Mildred Bodine, of Hobart, Ind.; one sister, Nell Harmon, of Carmi; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
