A former Wayne county resident, Mrs. Lethel McKitrick, 79, of Mt. Vernon, died at 11:04 p.m. Monday, July 29, 1985, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon of leukemia.
Mrs. McKitrick was the sister of Mrs. Kirby (Rizpah) Smith and Lloyd Harvey, both of Wayne City.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday (today) at Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City. Funeral arrangements were handled by Hughey Funeral Home, of Mt. Vernon.
A native of Four Mile township in Wayne county, Mrs. McKitrick was bornApril 15, 1906, the daughter of Ralph C. and Bertha Shell Harvey. On Nov. 1, 1925, she married Raymond D. McKitrick at Mt. Vernon. Mr. McKitrick died Mar. 7, 1982.
Mrs. McKitrick was employed at Swift and Company at Mt. Vernon for several years prior to operating the South Tavern there.
She followed the Baptist faith and was a member of the Mt. Vernon AmericanLegion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Kirby (Rizpah) Smith, of Wayne City; and Mrs. Lydia Johnson, of Carmi; a brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Rosalee Harvey, of Wayne City; and several nieces and nephews.
