Mrs. Imogene Heiss, 73, a former Wayne County resident, died Apr. 20, 1996, at Round Mountain, Calif.

Funeral rites were held Tuesday, Apr. 23, at Montgomery Creek, Calif

Although she was born in California Sept. 9, 1922, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forest Johnston, she was reared in Wayne County by her grandparents, Orin and Ella Johnston.  She was a homemaker and had lived in California over 40 years.  She was niece of Eldon and Robert Johnston, and has many relatives in the Wayne County area.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Heiss; one son, Dennis Case; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, all living in California.
