The Press has received Word of the death of J. T. George, 73, of Abilene, Tex., a former Flora resident and oilfield worker, who died Friday Jan. 14, 1983, in Abilene.

He is the brother-in-law of Roy G. Yates, of Flora.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home in Abilene, with burial in the Elwood Cemetery in Abilene.

Mr. George was a driller in the oilfields of Illinois for 10 years before moving to Texas in 1948.

Survivors include his wife Catherine Yates, of Abilene, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs James Harrison; one son, John Edward George, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
