Mrs. Betty J. Sons, 52, of Olney, a former assembler at Airtex Products, wife of David Sons, died at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1983, at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney. Mrs. Sons had suffered for many years with Addison's Disease and had been a hospital patient since Sunday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Robin Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday (tonight) at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sons was born in Norphlet, Ark., Oct. 21, 1930, the daughter of Arthur and Opal (Wilkin) Doty. The Doty family moved to Wayne County in 1941. She was married to David Sons in Ohio and he survives. Mrs. Sons was employed at Airtex as an assembler for 15 years prior to resigning 15 years ago. She was a member of the Olney Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, David Sons, of Olney; two sons, Jay Feather, of Cape Coral, Fla; and Bob Feather, of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Jack Doty, of Woodriver; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Allen, of Wayne City; Margaret Laborde, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Lois Chandler, of Arcadia, La.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky, in July of 1982.
