Bernice Bowden, 82 of Chenoa, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at 2:46 p.m. at the Meadows Mennorrite Nursing Home at Chenoa.

She was a retired employee of Sparton Manufacturing at Flora.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne with burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery at Johnsonville.  Visitation was held Sunday from 1 - 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bernice was born Feb. 14, 1925 at Johnsonville to Anthony and Bessie Hill Pennington. She married John W. Bowden Oct. 7, 1946 at Chicago. He preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1989.
 
Bernice was a member of the Community of Christ Church of Flora.

Survivors include two daughters, Margie (Dave) Stull of Chenoa and Joyce Moit of Sebring, Fla.; one son, Larry (Nina) of Fairbury; eight grandchildren; and 15 great¬grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, a daughter, four brothers, one sister, two stepsons and her parents.
