ISAAC C PAYNE
WAYNE CITY,
DIES AT AGE 94 YEARS
Isaac C. "Pikie" Payne, 94, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs Myrtle Wood of Wayne City. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Coombs Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Webb officiating, and burial will be in Thomason cemetery. The body will remain at Coombs Chapel, where friends may call. Mr. Payne, a retired painter, was born January 13, 1859 near Keenes, the son of William and Lucy (Maulding) Payne.
In 1879 he was married to Isabel Calvert, who survives. Mr. Payne was a member of the Church of Christ. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Cal of Wayne City, Robert of Minneapolis, Minn. and Ray of Cass City, Mich.; four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Wood of Wayne City, with whom he lived, Mrs. Mary Williamson of East Alton, Mrs. Hattie Scranton of Alton and Mrs. Beulah Koehler of Anna, Ill.; three brothers, Ralph of Wayne City, Cleve of Fairfield and Omer of Michigan; a sister, Mrs. Cora Esmon of Wayne City; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
