A well-known former Fairfield resident, Mrs. Camille K. Topper, died Friday, Feb. 19th, 1982, at Ft. Bayard Medical Center, Ft. Bayard, New Mexico. Mrs. Topper, age 95, had been a patient at Ft. Bayard for some time suffering from the infirmities of advanced age. Her daughter, Mrs. Frances Topper Parker, died in the same hospital a few months ago.
The remains were cremated and graveside services will be held at the family lot in Maple Hill cemetery in Fairfield at a later date.
Mrs. Topper was born in Fairfield on Feb. 20, 1887, the daughter of James H. and Ellen Kramer. Mr. Kramer was a prominent Fairfield businessman and banker at one time, a stockholder in the Southern Illinois Lumber Co., and the Fairfield National Bank. The family lived in the dwelling now the home of Mrs. Charles Fishel on West Main.
A son, James H. Topper, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, among them are Mrs. Ellen Wilson James, of Champaign, and Richard H. Yohe, of Salem.
