Ivan E. Koontz, 79, a retired Xenia barber and Wayne county native, died at 6:15 a.m. Friday Dec. 17, 1982, at the Clay County Hospital, at Flora.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Xenia United Methodist church. Burial was in the Odd Fellow   Cemetery, at Xenia.

Mr. Koontz was born Mar. 24, 1903, the son of Samuel and Della Mae (Jones) Koontz.  He was married to the former, Mabel Woomer, who survive

Survivors include his wife, Mabel, of Xenia; one sister, Ethel Mae Gibson, of Tavares, Fla .; and several nieces and nephews.
