Pearl Rister, 88, Dies
Mrs. Pearl M. Rister, 88, a longtime resident of the Springerton community, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 1982, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for three days. Mrs. Rister never lived in Wayne county, but she has several relatives in the Fairfield area.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Springerton Christian church, with Bro. Ron Lamp officiating. Burial will be in the Kitty Sweeton Cemetery south of Springerton. Visitation will be conducted from 12 p.m. Monday (today) at the Elledge Funeral Home, of Mill Shoals, until 12 noon Tuesday when the body will be moved to the church.
Mrs. Rister was born in Springerton, May 25, 1894, the daughter of Grant and Mae (Clark) Rose. She was married to James Rister on Jan. 31, 1914 and he survives.
Mrs. Rister was a member of the Springerton Christian church.
Survivors include her husband, James Rister, of Springerton; one son, Millage Lloyd Rister of Fairfield; five daughters, Heien Fulkerson and Doris Simpson both of Fairfield, Juanita Carter, and Maxine Carter, both of Springerton; Dorothy Henson, of Manchester, Mo., one brother Willard Rose, of Fairfield; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son.
