Bluford Farmer Dies In St. Louis Hospital
Willard Samuel Braddock, 62, a Bluford area farmer, died at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at Firmin DesLoge Hospital in St Louis, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bluford Funeral Home Bluford, with Rev. Melvin Chambliss and Rev. Harold Mayberry officiating. Burial will be in Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Friday at the Bluford Funeral Home.
Mr. Braddock was born in Wayne County Nov. 25, 1919, the son of Sam R. and Hattie (Wood) Braddock . He married the former Estella Mae King in Bluford Sept. 23, 1947. Mr. Braddock was an active member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau and had engaged in farming all his married life. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army in the European Theater.
Survivors include his widow Estella, of Bluford; three brothers, Nolan Braddock, of Bluford; Robert Braddock, of DeWitt, Mich., and Irvin Braddock, of Wayne City; two sisters, Mrs. Danny (Mildred) Jenkins, of Wayne City; and Mrs. Archie (Eunice) Lane, of Bluford; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by is parents and one sister.
