Luther Allen "Luke" Brown 84, of 300 Young Drive, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Brown moved here several years ago from the Chicago area following his retirement.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. Carl Davis officiating. Internment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born in Rector, Ark., Mar. 1, 1898, the son of Obe and Mattie (Clark) Brown. He was married to the former Anna Files at Piggott, Ark, May 30, 1921 and she survives. They had celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. The Browns lived in Chicago from 1923 until 1965 when they moved to Fairfield to be nearer Mrs. Brown's relatives.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Jeanette) Moser, of Lake Egypt and Mrs. Evelyn Bishop, of Elmhurst; one brother, C. W. Brown, of Friendship, Tenn; four sisters Mrs. Louise Koza and Mrs. Pearl McGue, both of McHenry, Mrs. Cora McGue, of Chicago; Mrs. Rose Slusser, of Barrington; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
