Mrs. Walter (Cecil Ann) Ketzner, 81, a longtime Fairfield resident, died at 9:48 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Ketzner had been in failing health and was admitted to the intensive care unit on Wednesday suffering from a heart attack.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday (today) at St. Edward Catholic church in Fairfield with Rev. Louis Peterson officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by the N@le's Funeral Home of Fairfield.
Mrs. Ketzner was born in Jasper, Ind., Feb. 11, 1901, the daughter of Peter and Louella (Merchant) Gehl.
She married Walther Ketzner at St. Edward Catholic church June 30, 1926. Mrs. Ketzner met her husband after she had moved to Fairfield to work for Sexton's Manufacturing Company.
Mrs. Ketzner was employed as a bookkeeper for various Fairfield businesses and kept the accounts and billing for her husband's business. Mr. Ketzner opened the Ketzner Tin Shop in Fairfield in 1938 and retired in 1965 when their son Walther, became owner and operator.
Mrs. Ketzner was a graduate of the Princeton Indiana schools and attended college at Oakland City College in Indiana.
She was a member of the St. Edward Catholic church, and a member of the Altar Sodality.
Survivors include her husband, Walther, of Fairfield; two sons, Walter Ketzner, of Fairfield. Fred Ketzner, of Bettendorf, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Clara Hopper, of Fort Branch, Ind.; and one grandchild.
