Mrs. Carrie Myrtle Wood, wife of Allen L. Wood, died at her home in this city Wednesday, Jan 16, 1901, at 9:20 p.m. About two weeks prior to her death she gave birth to a little daughter. Shortly afterward she was stricken with the grip and later by pneumonia, from which she did not recover.

Deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Dunahoo and was born near Fairfield October 23, 1876. Her age was 24 years, 2 months and 23 days at the time of her death. She joined the Christian church in the fall of 1893?(or 1898?), and was a true and faithful member until the end of her days. She was married May 22, 1895, to Allen L. Wood. To this union three children were born --- one son and two daughters, all of whom survive their mother.

Funeral services ere held in the Christian church at two o'clock Friday afternoon and were conducted by Eld. J. A. Battenfield. Interment in the new cemetery.

The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their affliction.
