was born at Mt. Carmel, Ill., on the 8th day of July, 1843. On December 23, 1865, she became the wife of our fellow-townsman, Leander Knowles. This union was blessed with five children, one of whom died in infancy. Mrs. Knowles has been a member of the M. E. church. All of her life she has clung to her faith in Christ. She leaves a husband, three daughters, one son and a host of relatives and friends to mourn the loss of a loving wife, mother and a firm friend. After an illness of some weeks she passed away on May 6th, at 11 p.m., aged 57 years, 9 months and 28 days. Funeral services were held at the family residence and the remains wre interred in the Curry cemetery at 11 a. m. May 8th.   Eld. J. A. Battenfield officiated.
