Mrs. Ida A. Jones, wife of J. W. Jones, died as their home in this city Thursday, the 17th inst., aged 33 years. The remains were taken to Edwards county and the funeral and interment took place at Wanboro, Edwards county, on Saturday, Eld. McCann conducting the services. Mrs. Jones was a consistent Christian woman, a devoted wife and mother, and a good neighbor. She had suffered for about a year with consumption, and being aware that her end was near, expressed herself as ready and willing to go, her chief regret being that her two little sons, Harry and Walter, aged respectively 10 and 12 years, would be left without a mother, at a time when they most needed one. They are bright and promising little boys who will doubtless be treated most kindly by the public, and cared for properly by their kind and devoted father. Mrs Jones was a daughter of Cyrus Oakley, one of Edwards county's prosperous farmers and best known citizens. Mr. Jones and the two little boys have the sincerest sympathy of the entire community in their great loss.
