Minatree Malone
Minatree Malone, son of James and Elizabeth Malone, was born October 7, 1862, in Indian Prairie Township, Wayne County, Illinois, where he lived during his life as a farmer and house mover.
He was united in marriage with Margaret Naomi Case, October 13, 1883. To this union five children were born, four preceding him in death; William Harvey and Bessie Ellen died in infancy; Asa Case at two years old; and Mrs. Burtha May McKinney December 15, 1929. His companion passed away December 28, 1911. He was again united in marriage withViola Gyer October 21, 1923.
He had been in failing health for some time. About three weeks ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis. All was done that loving hands could do, but he gradually grew weaker until he passed away February 9, 1940, at his home 3 1/2 miles southeast of Cisne. He leaves to morn his passing his faithful companion, one daughter, Mrs. Mamie Barnard, of Chenoa, Illinois; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; four brothers, Marion and George of Kansas,Williamof Sims, and John of Cisne; fiveMartha Bullard of Cisne, Ella Warren and Jane Barnard of Sims,Cansada Weaverof Kansas,Nancy Padgett of Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.
He was converted about 30 years ago and spoke of being ready to go during his last illness. He was a faithful companion, a loving father, and kind neighbor. Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. church at Johnsonville, February 10, 1940, at 11a.m. by Rev. S.E. Pinkstaff. Interment in the Hale Cemetery.
