After many months of suffering with an incurable malady, Miss Clara V. Adduddell passed away at one o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home of her mother, Mrs. Hattie N. Lyon, in this city.
Miss Adduddell was born in Senecaville, Ohio, July 6, 1856. When but eight months old her family removed to Flora, where they remained until she was eleven years old, when they removed to Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands, where she resided about five years. While she lived there, at about the age of fifteen years, she was converted to God and became a member of the Congregational church.
The family returned to the states when she was sixteen years old and resided at Flora for a time, removing to this city about twenty years ago.
September 2, 1883, during the pastorate of Dr. M. N. Powers, she and her mother became members of the M. E. church in this city. Deceased was a faithful member of the church until her earthly pilgrimage was over.
Besides her mother, deceased left one sister, Mrs. Hattie Melrose, of Grayville, to mourn her departure.
Deceased was a noble spirited woman and possessed the loftiest aspirations and high ideals. She was a devoted daughter and a helpful neighbor.
Funeral services were held at the late home of the deceased at ten o'clock Tuesday forenoon, Rev. J. G. Tucker, her pastor, conducting the services. Interment in city cemetery.
