Sylvanus Allen, 81,
Brother of Otis Allen, Dies In Arkansas
Sylvanus Allen, 81, of Hot Springs, Ark., Brother of Wayne City banker Otis Allen, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday in a hospital in that city. He was a former resident of Wayne City.
His body was returned to Wayne City and service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Richardson's Chapel with Rev. Edward Pilcher officiating. Burial will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Thursday (tonight).
Mr. Allen was born in the Wayne City area on June 18, 1895,
to George and
Laura (Turner) Allen. He was married to a Wayne City
woman, Ida Draper,
who survives.
He had been in poor health and he and his wife were planning to move back to Wayne County in the near future. They were looking for a home in the Fairfield area.
Surviving are his widow, Ida; one son, Dean, of
Pasadena, Calif.; two daughters, Velma Clark, of Brimfield,
Ill., and Doris Wilkinson, of Clayton, Mo.; a brother, W. O.
Allen, of Wayne City, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Parrent,
of Fairfield.
