Edward H. Abel, 58, a retired landscaper who has been living in Fairfield for several years, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Abel lived at 811 Laural St. with his wife and two children. He was suffering from a malignancy and had been hospitalized in the intermediate care section of Fairfield Memorial Hospital since Apr. 9.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God, with Rev. Don George officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dixon & Johnson Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Able was born in Connecticut Jan. 1, 1918. He lived in Fairfield in 1968, working at several jobs. He moved away and then returned in September of 1972.
On Sept. 11, 1972, he married Lethia Thomason, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Edward, and one daughter, Mary,
both at home; one sister, Eva, in Boston, Mass,; and three brothers.
