Mrs. Ida Travis, 92, of Clay City, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday
at the Burgin Manor Nursing Home No. 1 in Olney.
She was the widow of George Travis, and the mother of Mrs. John (Dorothy) Bayler, of Fairfield.
Mrs. Travis fell Christmas Eve and broke her hip.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, from the Clay City Chapel of the Cardascio-Easley Funeral Home, with burial in the Clay City cemetery. Friends May call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday evening (tonight).
She was born in Clay County Nov. 10, 1883, the daughter of George and Nancy Scrugham. She was married to George Travis Sept 26, 1906. Mrs. Travis was a member of the Clay City United Methodist church and a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, and four brothers.
Suvivors included are one son, Leon, of Clay City; five daughters,
Mrs. Daisy Bayler, McLeansboro; Mrs. Grace Meyer, Mason, Iowa;
Mrs.
Esta Levitt, Clay City; Mrs. Dorothy Bayler, Fairfield; and
Mrs.
Edith Evans, Clay City; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
