A Fairfield man Kenneth Savage, 49, was pronounced dead-on-arrival at 12:30 a.m. Monday (today) at Memorial Hospital after he suffered an apparent heart attack. Mr. Savage, who has been disabled with a heart condition for quite some time, suffered the attack at his cabin home on Northeast Second Street, nearJohnson Creek. A Dixon & Johnson ambulance was called but he died enroute to the hospital.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dixon & Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Mayberry officiating. Burial will be in the Enfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Savage was born in Enfield June 12, 1927, the son of Marion and Bonnie (Malone) Savage. He has spent most of his life around Fairfield and Mt. Vernon. Years ago,he worked for Southern Wholesale Lumber Co. here.
Later, he moved to Mt. Vernon and operated a tavern there. About five years ago, he moved back to Fairfield. His health hasen't permitted him to work.
Mr. Savage was a veteran of the Air Force.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane Snodgrass, of Covina, Calif.;
his mother, Bonnie, of Fairfield; one great-grandmother, Maggie
Malone, of Flora; two brothers, Gary, of Fairfield, and
Curtis,
of Iola.
