A long time northwestern Wayne county resident, Edward Harrison Pursell, 86, died at six p.m. Monday at the Clay County hospital. He suffered from the infirmities of advanced age.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Frank Funeral Home in Flora. Burial was in the Cisne cemetery.
Mr. Pursell was born in Wayne county on May 30, 1890, the son of William and Sara Shrum Pursell.
He spent his life as a carpenter.
Surviving are his widow, Flossie; three daughters, Mrs. Dale Dulaney, of Xenia; Mrs. John Warren, of Redding, Calif.; Mrs. Mel Sweet, of Paso Robles, Calif.; one son, W. D. Pursell, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
