A native of Johnsonville, Buel W. Alvis, died May 30 in Dinuba, Calif., according to word received here.

He was married to the former Amy Green, of Geff, who survives.  Mr. Alvis was buried in Dinuba.

He was born in Johnsonville Apr. 13, 1895.

Surviving are his widow; Amy; three sons, Leland, Keith, and Duane,   five daughters, Lucille Hearn, Juanita DePriest,  Eula Merrell,  Marilyn Gray,  and Nancy Franklin;  29 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charley Alvis,  three sisters, Winnie Slover,  Gertrude Slover,  and Lena Bebb.
