FATHER OF FRANK WALTER, SR.
HAD BEEN AT
ALBION NURSING HOME
NINE MONTHS
George W. Walter, 98, one of Wayne county's oldest residents, died at the Rest Haven nursing home in Albion at 1:15 Sunday afternoon from causes incident to his advanced age.
Mr. Walter, a lifelong Wayne county resident and retired farmer, had been at the nursing home for the past nine months. He was the father of Frank Walter, Sr., and Mrs. Chaney McKay, of this city.
FUNERAL TUESDAY
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from Nales Funeral Home, with Rev. Raymond Walker officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home until the funeral hour.
George W., son of Edward and Drucilla Walter, was born in Wayne county near Bt. Prairie on January 17th 1857. Mr. Walter was a farmer but had been retired many years.
He was married to Elizabeth McLain April 29th, 1877, and seven children were born to this union. Five children preceded him in death, four daughters and one son. His wife died in 1926.
LIST OF SURVIVORS
Surviving are his son, Frank, Sr., of Fairfield; and a daughter,
Mrs. Chaney McKay, of Fairfield; a brother Henry, of Mill Shoals;
and a half-brother, Levi Walter, of Fairfield; and several grandchildren
and greatgrandchildren.
