Yesterday morning, a shocking accident befel Miss Mary Campbell, residing in Fairfield. Whilst standing near a stove her garments caught fire, and she was instantly inveloped in the flames, and notwithstanding a great effort was made to save her, she fell a victim to the seathing element. She survived until five o'clock P. M., when death relieved her of her sufferings, and her spirit took its flight from this world of pain and death.

The sad accident, which has cast a gloom o'er the whole community, forcibly reminds us how little we know "what a day may bring forth."
