1860 MORTALITY SCHEDULE |
The Mortality Schedules were done while taker was doing the Federal Census were done. Most of the 15 columns were left blank (writing cramps??). Therefore, I used the columns that contained the most information, of which are the first 5 columns. Those 5 columns are:
1. NAME
2. AGE 3. SEX - MS Marital Status M=married W=widow/widower S=single 4.PO BIRTH 5. MONTH of DEATH |
Many names were misspelled but we tried to copy the data as accurate as possible as written on the report(s).
While reading the newspaper that not all the people that died within the time census year are listed and, I found there were a few people that died in 1858 listed to die withing the cnensus year. Could it be the person giving the information was not clear? We will never know.
Take these reports as a 'door opener' to help you do your research.
