RICHARDSON  FUNERAL  RECORDS

The Richardson Funeral Home is located on Main Street, Wayne City, Wayne County, IL.  The Richardson family  has owned and operated the parlor since Mr. Richardson bought it from J Frank Combs in 1953.  After
Mr. Richardson passed, his son  has since carried on this family business.

From 1953 to 1985, over 3,000 funerals had been performed by this parlor and the numbers still going.  According to the records, the first funeral performed under the Richardson Funeral Parlor was for Stella  GARRISON.  She died November 12, 1953 and was buried at the Thomason Cemetery, Wayne City, IL.

A few years ago, Sue  (a local Librarian) saw the genealogy value of these records and volunteered to transcribe them.

Thank you Terry and Sue for your permission to put them records on this site.

Note,
Garrison  could be Garrison Temple  (see this site's cemetery listing)  OR Garrison, Hamilton Co., IL L (see Yesterday in Hamilton County for more accurate lists).

I never thought I was "old" until I did this page because I attended most of these funerals with my Grandma, ha!

Smiles!

Dianna
