This information is copied from the death certificate records kept by my father during the years that he operated the funeral business in Cisne, Wayne County, Illinois.  The early copies were in handwriting on stubs in books from which the official certificates were taken to be submitted to the county.  Later records are typewritten on carbon copies of the originals.

As the forms changed over the years, the information provided changed.  For instance, some of the blanks had spaces for the name of the spouse and some did not.

My father was a matioulous record keeper and his handwriting was clear and legible. If there are Dicrepancies in information here,they could have resulted from the informants not having the correct data.

In a few instances no one knew the early history of the deceased persons.  I have copied from the records the avaliable information that has genealogical significance   In any instance where a state is not named, it will be Illinois.  The dates are given in the month, day,  year order.

from personal knowledge although I do have a copy of his death certificate issued in Fairfield at the time of his death.  During the last few months of his life declining health prevented him from keeping his records as meticulously as he had previously done.  Up until the last six months of his life his records were so carefully organized, numbered and bound together that  copying them was no great chore.  The copies he kept of the death certificates submitted to the County during his last months were not bound and I can not be certain that all of them are here.  My father was buried on December 15, 1963, in the Cisne Cemetery.
