1855 State Census

Abstracted, proof read, copyright and submitted by Dana Hill

This page was done by one of our county's volunteer, Dana Hill, who transcribed and proof read the data from a faded and hard to read microfilm, and owns the copyright for them.

Many thanks to Dana!

Dana wrote:
The middle of each page on the microfilm was faded, making some of the names almost impossible to read, and I don't know enough about names in right County to decipher some of them.

Also please note that the total number of persons in the household does not always add up correctly, but I transcribed them as they were.  Plus, not all of the columns had entries.  I left them blank

When a name could not be made out, it is in italic.  Many of the names are hard to read (being so old and poor handwriting) and have several spellings (remember accents made it hard to understand a person, or it is spelled as pronounced), as example:  AYER could be AIRER or AIER or AER.
