Milo Martin never knew his name was WILLIAM Milo Martin until he went to MI to work for General Motors! Everybody had always called him "Milo"; or "Lefty"; but NEVER William! In fact, we STILL do not know how William came to be his first name; because there is no record of it.
So if anybody knew him; or were referring to him from MO; I am quite certain the woould refer to him as either "Milo" Martin or "Lefty" Martin.)

STATE OF MISSOURI On this 9th day of June, 1939, before me personally appeared John Martin and Maud E. Martin, his wife, of Stoddard County, Missouri, who after being duly sworn according to law, deposes and says: That they are the parents of Milo Martin, and that the said Milo Martin was born in Dexter, Stoddard County, Missouri, on the 8th day of September, 1906. Affiants further state that the attending physician, Dr. J. L. Slayden, is now deceased. Also personally appeared Cora Smith of Stoddard County, Missouri, who after being duly sworn according to law, deposes and says: That she was present when the said Milo Martin was born and that he was born in Dexter, Stoddard County, Missouri, on the 8th day of September, 1906, and that the attending physician is now dead.
