Former residents of rural Keenes. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Sledge of Mattoon, recently observed their 50th wedding anniversary.

A surprise buffet and reception, hosted by their children was held at Bonker's in Mattoon. Family and friends attended.

Gene Sledge and Sybil Gray were married March 19, 1946, in Bluford.

They are parents of ...

Mr. Sledge worked in the oil business for the past 50 years. Mrs. Sledge retired from the Mattoon Garment Factory in 1977
