Veda Madding turns 105  the 16th of Jan.2006,she has lived most of her life in Wayne Co. Ill. At a young age she taught school at several schools in and around Wayne Co. Veda taught school from about 1918-1928. She met her future husband Henry C. Madding at school #4 , they later married in 1929.Together they had four children  Doris, Conrad, Bernice,and John.Veda is the daughter of Noah and Barbara  (Runkles?) Denny. She was born in Mercer Co. Oh. Veda Madding now resides at the Burgin Manor in Olney, Il.along with her sister in law Leona J.Madding Shelton,sister of her husband Henry. Aunt Veda helped plan the DeKalb and Mary Barbara Arnold  Madding family reunion in July 1996,which was held in Mt. Erie.

I remember going to the Madding farm as a child.Uncle Henry always said to stay out of the barn and away from the pigs. However ,we never listened, and made tunnels in the hay. Aunt Veda was always nice to us, we enjoyed our visits to their farm in southern Ill.
