W.A. BROWN AND WIFE
MARRIED 50 YEARS

Well-known Bedford Township Couple
Had Celebration on Sunday  1947

Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Brown, well-known Bedford township couple, observed their golden wedding anniversary at their home south of Cisne Sunday. A family dinner was served at noon and open house was held in the afternoon, when about 200 friends and relatives called to extend congratulations and best wishes. Refreshments of ice cream, cake, and coffee were served.

The honored couple received many flowers and useful gifts.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown were married on March 30th, 1897, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Dundas, south of Johnsonville. She is the former Susan E. Dundas. They have spent practically all of their married life in the Cisne community.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown have four children, and all were present Sunday. They are: Bertha, wife of Hobart Matchett, of Anderson, Ind.; Virgil, of Gary, Ind.; Homer, of Hammond, Ind., and Miss Ices Betty Brown, of Fairfield.

The out of town guests included the children, Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Matchett, daughter, Mrs. Max Cavnes, and son, Richard Cavnes, of Anderson; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Brown and son, Roland, of Gary; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Brown and son, Arnold, and daughter, Ovella, of Hammond; Mr. and Mrs. Harve Brown and daughters, Mrs. John Knurr and Mrs. Naomi Wilson, of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Fred Bailey, Independence, Iowa; Mrs. Burt Turner, Jessop, Iowa; Mrs. Carl Melboom, Ft Wayne, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wolfe, Carbondale, Ill.; and Mrs. Pete Miller, daughter, Marilyn, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller, Whiting, Ind.

Among those present who attended the wedding 50 years ago were Walter Lowe, Johnsonville; George H. Henderson, Geff, and Ether Little, Fairfield.
