SUBMISSION - ABSTRACTS

Dianna's notes:
James had a brother that married into my line and I researched this line for years to find info on my line.  Timothy (aka Thomas), and 2 other brothers enlisted together but James is the only one that returned of the 4.  Another brother, Stephen P Boswell, entered a different unit and returned home.

James Colten Boswell was the son of William and Susanna Ann (Bradford) Boswell.

Jerilyn's Comment:

Only children living at the time of his application were Harriett S & David.

One place said that his wives were Malinda White and Lucinda Alexander, but I think the one affidavit clears this up.

I don't understand how the county sends one marriage date and both James and Margaret insist it was the 13th.

In the 1880 census they are in Four Mile, Wayne Co., Illinois  James is 44, Margaret 34, Susan 13, William 11 & David 6.  Children born in Illinois, James in Illinois and Margaret in Tennessee.

In the 1870 census they are in Four Mile, Wayne Co., Illinois.  James is 35, born in Illinois, Sarah M. is 23, born in Tennessee, Harriett S. 3, born in Illinois and William 1, born in Illinois

In the 1860 census he is age 24, born in Illinois and listed with probably his parents, Wm Boswell & family.
