Henry M. Clark, aged 30 years, a resident of Conway county, state of Arkansas stated that he had received severe gunshot wound just below knee on left leg rendering him to be a permanent cripple. John Bartlett and Elijah W. Willis signed an affidavit stating they are personally acquainted with Henry M. Clark.

Henry M. Clark aged 42 resident of Old Hickory, Conway Co., Ar. appeared to claim he was enrolled with the Pension Agency at Little Rock at the rate of $14.00 a month, but thought his present physical condition entitled him to receive an increased amount. Charles Reid, Jr. of Lewisburg and Cyrus A. Bartlett of Griffin Twp., both of Conway Co., Ar. witnessed the signature and identified Henry M. Clark as identical person he represented himself to be.

Henry M. Clark appeared to claim he was entitled to an increased pension; disabled by gunshot wound in left leg, first and second fingers on right hand by gunshot and disease of lungs the result of measles. Witness: John Kelly and James Reynolds.

25 April 1898
Nancy E. Clark appeared in the court at Newton County, Arkansas and states she is age 53 years and the widow of Henry M. Clark who had died 14 Apr 1898 at Newton Co., Ar. She says she was married under the name of Nancey E. Greer to said Henry M. Clark on 27 April 1865 by Walter Vance, JP at Conway County, Ar.. Henry M. Clark was previously married but his former wife is deceased. Nancy is without means of support.

A. G. Bartlett, a resident of Jerusalem, Pope County, Arkansas appeared and stated he was well acquainted with Nancy E. Clark, widow of Henry M. Clark and had been acquainted with them since 1864 and could state positive that Henry M. Clark was never married to any person after the death of Elizabeth Clark until he married Nancy E. Clark. He states that Henry M. Clark's first wife,Elizabeth Clark died at Lewisburg, Conway County, Arkansas on or about 24 May 1864. He knew this because they moved to Lewisburg and shortly after they moved there we heard she was very sick and in a few days Sally Greer came up from there and brought Elizabeth's baby with her and kept it until it died and there was several others told me she was dead, but none of those witnesses now living.
