ENROLLED:   July 25, 1861 at Jeffersonville, IL as a Corporal
ENLISTED:   August 4, 1861, commanded by Capt. D. Ulm.
DISCHARGED:   January 1, 1864 in Scotts Barrow, AL.
RE-ENLISTED:   January 1, 1864.
DISCHARGED:   December 18, 1864.
DISCHARGED:   July 24, 1865, as a 1st Lieutenant. He served for a while as a Corporal.
DISCHARGED:   August 3 or 6, 1865 (I don't know which one to believe) at Springfield, IL.

BORN:   September 1, 1836 in Ohio.
DIED:   April 14, 1909 at Wayne City, IL.

Lived his whole life in Wayne Co., IL.

MARRIED:   Mary E. Spriggs February 28, 1867 by Jacob Hawk, J. P., at Fairfield, IL.

CHILDREN:

  1. Lenora McRill born December 1867.
  2. Luther McRill born July 1870 and died July 1, 1927.
  3. Ruth McRill born January 1873 (she married a Miller).
  4. Rena McRill born May 7, 1875 in Wayne Co., IL and died February 20, 1921 in Wayne City, Wayne Co., IL, buried Hopewell Cemetery on February 22, 1921 (death certificate found in file).
  5. Grant McRill born July 1878.
  6. Rosco McRill born March 7, 1881.
  7. Leonard McRill born November 1, 1883.

His two children, Luther and Rena, were considered invalids and got a special act of the government to get them $12 each pension check.

Mary E. Spriggs McRill was born April 15, 1846, in Belmont Co., Ohio and died October 17, 1929, in Wayne City, IL and is buried at Hopewell Cemetery.

Witnesses for WIDOW'S APPLICATION were E. McElfresh and W. T. Faulkner in 1909. W. B. Myers was Notary Public.

Witness in 1921 was O. U. (I think) Talbert of Wayne City and George Smith of Wayne City.
