Let's say you are looking for a person who in 1819 lived in northeast Wayne Co., IL.  Records for them may be found in Edwards Co., IL, or in Richland Co., IL, since parts of both these counties were once in Wayne Co., IL.  Also, many records for people who lived in Wayne City, Wayne Co., IL, can be found in Hamilton Co., IL.   Therefore, do NOT limit your research to 'only' WayneCounty.  Visit its neighbors.
