Charles VANDAVEER
Charles Vandaveer probably came to Wayne Co., IL from Christian or Henry Co., KY by way of Orange Co., Indiana, sometime prio to 1840. He was listed in Wayne Co., with Charles and James Vandaveer, believed to be his sons. In 1850 he was 92 years old and living with presumably his deceased son, Charles' family. Some say Charles Sr. died in 1854 in Kentucky, but have not proved that. James Henry VANDAVEER went to Greenwood Co., Kansas with Dr. Jonas ROE and his family. Both were Civil War Veterans.
1) Charles Vandaveer was born 1758 in Burke Co., NC and died after 1850. He married a woman named Sarah and she was born 1763, Burke Co. NC.
