My great great grandfather, Franklin Walker  Butler, was born on Mar 11 1817 in Jackson County, TN. He died in 1881 and  was buried  in Laird Cemetary near Bluford, IL. He was an owner of general store prior to 1865 in Butler's Landing, TN. Franklin brought his family to Illinois in 1865 after the fire which burned his general store at Butler's Landing.

He was married to Lucinda MONTGOMERY on Apr 7 1842 in Jackson County, TN.   She was  Aug 26 1826 in TN and  died in May 1865 in Desoto, IL. during childbirth when Cyrus was born.

There he was converted and became a boy preacher at age 16. He also later attending Ewing College and practiced law, wasa schoolteacher, carpenter and blacksmith.
