Mrs. Sarah Hudson, Goldengate Dies,

89-Year-Old Eastern Wayne Resident passed Away At Memorial Hospital Friday

Mrs. Sarah Hudson, 89, of Goldengate, died at 6:35 Friday morning at Memoria Hospital, where she had been a patient 11 days.

Mrs. Hudson had resided the past several months with a son, Frank, in Albion, and prior to that for a time with a daughter in Akron, Ohio.  She had been in failing helth for some time.

Rites Held Sunday

Funeral services were conducted from the Goldengate Methodist church Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Dean Brown officiating.  Interment was in Bethel cemetery south of Ellery.  The Nale Funeral Home in Albion was in charge of arrangements.

Sarah, daughter of William and Mary Elizabeth Miller, was born at Canton February 2nd, 1878.

She was married to Jesse Hudson, with 12 children born to their union.  Her husband passed away in 1961 and she was also preceded in death by two childrern.

Mrs. Hudson was the last surviving member of the William Ball family.

The Survivors

Surviving are five sons, Frank and Ira, both of Albion; Ben and Charles, both of Goldengate; and Rev. Roy Hudson, of Bellmont; five daughters, Mabel, wife of George Shilling, of Browns; Mrs. Annalee Fischer,  Mrs. Ruth Zurbuch and Mrs. Ethel Lay, all of Akron, Ohio; and Mrs. Wilma Chalcraft,  of Evansville, Ind.; 25 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
