Nona Lavon Simmons Dies at Crossroads Hosp.

Mrs. Nona Lavon Simmons, 80, of Mt. Vernon, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at 4 a.m. in Crossroads Hospital, Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker.

Graveside Services
Graveside services and burial were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City with Rev. Darin Elder officiating. Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City was in charge of arrangements.

Nona was born March 12, 1923 in Wayne County, the daughter of George W. and Lora F. Thomason Stull. She was married to Delbert Simmons who passed away on Nov. 9, 1974.

Mrs. Simmons was of the Methodist faith.

The Survivors Survivors include a son, Howard (Sally) Simmons, Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Thelma (David) Bullock, Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Virgil Stull, Bethalto Glenn Stull and Orbit Stull, Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by a son, her husband, three brothers and one sister.
