Inez Simmons, 99, Former Wayne Co. Teacher, Dies

Mrs. Inez O. Simmons, 99, of Satellite Beach, Fla., and formerly of the Cisne and Clay City areas, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 9 2000, at Mariner Healthcare facility in Melbourne, Fla.

She was a housewife but earlier in life taught in Wayne County grade schools.

RITES WEDNESDAY

Funeral rites will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, with Rev. Doyle Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Cisne Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hosselton Funeral Home 10 - 11 Wednesday morning.

She was born at Clay City Mar. 10, 1901, the daughter of John Wesley and Libbie May Murphy Mayo.

On June 6, 1923, in Akron, Ohio, she was married to Irvin D. Simmons. He died in 1966.

She was a member of the Fairfield Royal Neighbors Lodge and was of the Methodist faith.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.

THE SURVIVORS

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Carol A. (Richard) Long of Satellite Beach, Fla.; one son, Robert A. (Rae) Simmons of Fall Church, Mo.; two sisters, Helen Fishel of Lawrence, Kans.; Tressie Loye of Roswell, N.M.; a sister-in-law; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
