Arthur Case

Ivesdale - Graveside services for Arthur Glen Case, 77, of Ivesdale, formerly of Cisne, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cisne Cemetery, Cisne. The Rev. Johnny Ray Pennington will officiate, and the Cisne American Legion Post will perform military rites. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Roux-Wright Funeral Home, 348 N. Platt St., Bement.

Mr. Case died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, at the Platt County Nursing Home, Monticello.

He was born Jan. 21, 1920 at Wayne County, a son of Arthur and Martha Long Case. He married Thelma Barnfield on July 22, 1940. She died April 7, 1966. He married Viola Bragg on Oct. 25, 1966, at Atwood. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Jack Case of Effingham, Donnie Case of Manteno and Freddie Case of Pinellas Park, Fla., a brother, Robert Case of Cisne, and three sisters, Lucille Johnson of Fairfield, Agnes Johnston of Cisne and Ruth Carney of Marshall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Mr. Case was a retired truck driver, oil-field worker, farmer, carpenter and machine operator for Trunkline Gas Co. He was a member of the Albert Parker American Legion Post No. 620, Bement. He served in the Army during World War II.

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
