Mrs. Nancy Weaver Dies At Home Here
Widow of Former Wayne County Sheriff (unclear text) day Night Last Week

Mrs. Nancy Ann Weaver, 91, widow of the late Louis Harve Weaver, former Wayne county sheriff, passed away at her home on South East Second street Wednesday evening of last week. Death was attributed to a stroke of apoplexy suffered the evening prior to her death. Prior to that Mrs. Weaver had enjoyed very good health. Rites Held Friday Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the First Christian church with Rev. John Lappin officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Nancy Ann, daughter of William and Salina Vernon Dickey, was born September 7, 1860, at Walker county, Ga. She came to Illinois when she was five years of age. She was a lifelong Christian, holding membership in the Fairfield Christian church at the time of her death.

She was married to Louis Harve Weaver in March, 1883. He preceded her in death in 1928. They had eight children, three of whom, Arthur, Ida and an infant son, preceded her in death.

Surviving are the children: Miss Edith Weaver, Miss Chloe Weaver, Mrs. Huber Bright and Mrs. H.W. Cates, all of Fairfield; and Mrs. Homer Goodall, of Sherman, Texas. In addition to her own children, she reared Mrs. Dorothy Weaver-Fessel, of Olney, a daughter of her son, Arthur. Also surviving are three other grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
