Perry L. Butler, 88, Wayne City, died at 3:30 pm yesterday at Mt. Vernon Manor Nursing Home.

He was born in Wayne county on April 21, 1883, the

son of Washington and Lucinda (Bennett) Butler. He was married on Oct 21, 1911 to Eva Miller who died on April 26, 1961.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at Richardson Chapel in Wayne City with Rev. Bill Gammon and Rev. Russell Monroe officiating. Burial will bein Olive Branch cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 5:00 pm Friday. He is survived by a son, Eugene Butler, Joliet; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Thomason, Wayne City; one granddaughter; three brothers, Walker Butler, Watson, Herbert Butler, Winnfield, IA, and Monroe Butler, Hammond, MO; four sisters, Mrs. Maude Whalen, Bluford, Mrs. Gladys Young, St. Elmo, Mrs. Grace Young, Fairfield and Mrs. Nell Schmidt, Winnfield, IA
