OBITUARY

MARY ETTA MILLER

 
MARY ETTA MILLER, daughter of William and Thursday (Stephenson) Wallace, was born in Wayne county, Oct. 10, 1873;  died July 21, 1947, age 73 years, nine months and 11 days.

She was united in marriage to Jabe Miller, April 15, 1891.  To this union were born seven children.  Three, James, Cora and Arthur, died in infancy.  Another daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Klein died in 1933 at the age of 31.  Her husband preceded her in death in September 1921.

Early in life she professed faith in Christ and united with the General Baptist church and remained a faithful member until her death.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Marshal, of Sims; two sons, Luther Miller of Sims and John Miller, Detroit, Mich.; one step-son, William Miller, of Sims, eighteen grandchildren and one grandson, Russell Hefley, whom she reared as her own, and to whom she gave a mother’s love and devotion.

She also leaves 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Wallace of Sims and Alfred Wallace of Fairfield; one sister, Mrs. Dolly Cheathan, of DuQuoin, and many other relatives.
