MERLE AND GLADIS (ANDERSON) MILLER

Rites Friday for Former Residents Kill in Crash

Joint funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Merle Miller of Sullivan, IL, former residents of Mt. Vernon who were killed in an auto crash near Shelbyville Monday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Methodist church in Sullivan.

Burial will be in the Sullivan cemetery.

Mr. Miller, 67, and his wife Gladis, 66, were killed when they were thrown out of their car by the impact of the collision.  Two others, Donald Whisnant, 47, of Disco and his wife, Edna, 50, were also killed in the same accident.

Mrs. Miller is survied by three brothers, including J.V. Anderson of Mt.Vernon, and seven sisters, including Lova Chase of Belle Rive and Emma Anderson of Wayne City.

She and Mr. Miller are survived by one son, Robert of Shelbyville, and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Miller was born near Keenes, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jabe Anderson.

Friends may call at the McMillin Funeral Home in Sullivan at any time until the funeral.
